久安电视纽约东河岸36号篮球竞标赛场地报道: 首届(第一届)年度亚裔传统锦标赛(Asian Heritage Tournament)于本週末4月6日、7日在曼哈顿下东城 Basketball City展开赛事,并向冠军球队赠予高达12,000元的奖金,主办方LunarNYC 机构诚邀民众前来为亚裔球队助威。

来自纽约、德州、佛罗里达等全美18隻亚裔球员组成的球队争夺篮球锦标赛奖牌。每位参赛球员必须为至少四分之一的亚裔血统。

旨在将纽约的亚裔社区以及热爱全球文化的人们聚集在一起,通过参与丰富有趣的体育活动,增强团结性、竞争力以及影响力,非营利机构Lunar NYC打造了此次大型篮球赛事。

Lunar NYC创办人、华裔企业家余江铭(Jay Yu)表示,参赛选手需要有至少25%的血统是亚洲人。他并透露说,本次参赛的球队大半是中国球队,并且包括韩国、菲律宾、印度、柬埔寨、巴基斯坦等等,也包括与亚裔混血的非裔、白人等。

该赛事将分为「友谊」和「精英」两个部分,重点是聚焦篮球与亚洲文化之间的联繫。友谊部分将进行「表演赛」,赢家现金奖金为8,000美元,精英赛区的球员将参加一场高达12,000美元奖金的比赛,这将是北美亚裔篮球锦标赛中提供的最高额冠军奖金。在这精英赛部分,来自美国各地和世界上最好的球员将展示他们的球技。

该锦标赛进行两天,共18隻球队参加,同时有七支球队进行淘汰赛,在曼哈顿的亚裔赛事中场面盛大。Lunar NYC的教练Bill Chan介绍说,该队的很多球员自高中就参加了训练,最小开始年龄为12岁,已经跟随教练学习篮球数年,尤其是很多华裔新移民家庭的孩子,由于家庭预算有限父母无能力送孩子去参与昂贵课外课程,Lunar NYC也一直在义务训练他们。

主办方也表示,今年球季将举办女子队锦标赛以及少儿队锦标赛。

赛事将在曼哈顿下东城的篮球城(Basketball City,36号码头)举办,那是一个佔地七万平方英尺的纽约最先进的体育和娱乐场地之一。余江铭表示,之所以选址在此,体现了主办方对此赛事的重视。

余江铭2014年创办 Lunar NYC,初衷是希望推广亚裔文化,目前该机构著重在于帮助5岁至25岁的亚裔青年健康成长,该组织多年来资助华裔儿童及青少年参与北美华裔篮球锦标赛(North American Chinese Basketball AssociationInvitational Tournament),从小酷爱篮球的他表示,小时候家裡经济条件差,他从来没有机会去外地参加赛事,而今他默默为同样梦想的孩子们助力。

余江铭说,他的成长经历其实也是千千万万移民者的历程,从一开始一无所有开始打拼,到慢慢积累财富,通过努力建立了在社会上的地位。他说也正是因为印象深刻的成长经历让他更体会到应回馈华裔社会,他在2014年创立了LunarNYC,,他说总有一个梦想,就是将农历新年游行搬到曼哈顿第五大道上,在主流社会面前展示亚裔群体的力量,纽约亚裔人数很多力量很强,但声音却不够响亮,他希望自己能够出一点力,创建一个平台让更多的人瞭解中国文化。

LunarNYC Announces the 18 Teams Participating in The First Annual Asian Heritage Basketball Tournament 

NEW YORK, April 1st, 2019 – Lunar New Year Celebration (LunarNYC) today announces that 18 teams will participate in its First Annual Asian Heritage Basketball Tournament. The tournament will take place on April 6th and 7th, at New York City’s Top Facility: Basketball City (at Pier 36). 

Featuring a limited pool of teams, the event will be split into two divisions, Friendship and Elite, with the goal of creating parity. The Friendship Division features a cash prize of $8,000 and will headline teams that are looking to participate in exhibition-style games in a casual-competitive environment. Meanwhile, teamsin the Elite Division will compete for a whopping $12,000,vying to capture North America’s largest championship prize ever awarded in an Asian basketball tournament.
